At the moment of creation, existence has been fractured; split across two conflicting realities: separate, yet never fully disconnected. Our universe - everything we see, everything we experience, everyone we are connected to - sprang from a singular moment of creation, filled with energy. A force that drove the the expansion of the cosmos, willed our souls into existence, and permeated our universe with life. Yet overlaying our existence is the Void. A separate reality, where life, if one can call it life, is animated by a malevolent energy. A darkness whose sole purpose, whose very existence, is dedicated to nullifying ours.

Creation and destruction, life and death, separated by a thin veil. A chaotic equilibrium, with life, love, and hope in constant threat from death, decay, and darkness.

And the veil weakens…

Life energy from our reality has as seeped into the Void animating a creative force twisted and corrupted by its darkness. Likewise, dark energy from the Void has oozed into our reality, seeking refuge in death and decay and giving rise to a shadow world of arcane knowledge, supernatural encounters, sorcery and black magick.

THE SCU

The Shadow Cinematic Universe - SCU - exists at the intersection of our reality and the Void. A dark and dangerous existence occasionally punctuated by desperate struggles for survival. Where evil tempts the most worthy, the lines between light and dark are blurred, and where our heroes are forced to harness the dark power of the Void to battle encroaching evil.

The SCU’s overlapping and interconnected stories, characters, and expansive scope were specifically crafted for visual media, and all share three core elements:

1. All human superpowers or supernatural abilities, good or evil, are rooted in dark energy (or the negation thereof).

2. The use of dark energy has a cost, and the price will always be paid. Without a fundamental sense of fairness and justice, it’s use will consume you, and even then it can be a near-run thing. Often, we may never know the price until it’s paid.

3. Creatures of the void and their allies actively seek our destruction.
